QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Management, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited institution;
  • Proven experience in strategic development and management of complex large-budget, multi-site, multi-disciplinary projects;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Ability to develop and present technical and marketing materials to key stakeholders and general public;
  • Ability to generate and analyze reports with statistical, geographic, and demographic data.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and managing multi-disciplinary, multi-year, and multi-million-dollar project.
  • Marketing and promoting the NSF ATE Center through public speaking engagements, online platforms, and written publications.
  • Working with regional partners to meet NSF Grant goals.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting data for the NSF ATE Center.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying and employing strategies to develop and sustain local, regional and national technical workforce in lasers and fiber optics.
  • Collaborating with the nationwide network of colleges, universities, and professional and trade organizations in the development and integration of multifaceted workforce training programs.
  • Developing and aligning college learning outcomes with industry standards and skill requirements.
  • Planning, designing, promoting, implementing, and teaching professional development programs for the incumbent workforce, college faculty, and K-12 educators.
  • Developing partnerships with local, regional, and national industry leadership to align the supply and demand of qualified laser and fiber optics technical personnel.
  • Planning, designing, promoting, and implementing public outreach programs for laser and fiber optics technologies.
  • Organizing, updating, and monitoring the success of the program website.
  • Work with the external evaluator to create surveys and studies, collect data and write reports as required by NSF.
  • Completing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five

(25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
